Republic Act No. 1187, enacted on June 20, 1954, establishes the municipality of San Isidro in the province of Samar, separating it from the municipality of Allen. The new municipality comprises the barrios of Calagundian, Irenas, Caguititan, Palanit, San Juan, Veriato, and San Roman. The initial mayor, vice-mayor, and councilors will be appointed by the President of the Philippines and will serve until their elected successors are qualified. This Act took effect upon its approval and was published in the Official Gazette in September 1954.

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 1187

AN ACT CREATING THE MUNICIPALITY OF SAN ISIDRO IN THE PROVINCE OF SAMAR

SECTION 1. The barrios of Calagundian, Irenas, Caguititan, Palanit, San Juan, Veriato, and San Roman are separated from the municipality of Allen, Province of Samar, and constituted into a new and regular municipality to be known as the municipality of San Isidro in the same province.

SECTION 2. The first mayor, vice-mayor and councilors of the new municipality shall be appointed by the President of the Philippines and shall hold office until their successors shall have been elected and shall have duly qualified.

SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
