Republic Act No. 3392, enacted on June 18, 1961, establishes the barrio of Sapangan as a separate and distinct entity within the Municipality of San Juan, Batangas. This barrio is created by detaching the sitio of Sapangan from the existing barrio of Sampiro and defines its boundaries in relation to neighboring areas, including Rosario and various natural landmarks. The Act took effect upon its approval and was published in the Official Gazette a year later.

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 3392
AN ACT CREATING THE BARRIO OF SAPANGAN IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF SAN JUAN, PROVINCE OF BATANGAS
SECTION 1. The sitio of Sapangan in the barrio of Sampiro, Municipality of San Juan, Province of Batangas, is separated from said barrio and constituted into a distinct and independent barrio of said municipality, to be known as the barrio of Sapangan. The barrio shall be bounded on the North by the Municipality of Rosario along the summit or the highest peak of the mountain of Matan-ag, Talon, and a portion of Sabutan Creek; on the East by Sabutan Creek; on the South by an imaginary straight line running from East to West beginning from the bank of Sabutan Creek passing through the center of a big duhat tree and a big tamarind tree located near the terminal of the finished Sampiro Road up to the bank of the Sampiro Creek on the West; and on the West by the Sampiro Creek.
