Creation of Barangay Sta. Cruz, Antipolo, Rizal

Batas Pambansa Blg. 791, enacted on April 27, 1984, establishes a new barangay named Barangay Sta. Cruz in the Municipality of Antipolo, Province of Rizal. This new barangay is formed by separating the sitios of Sta. Cruz, Nagpuso, Cavaliers, Kay Baiya, Mahal na Poon, Tawid-Tawid, Uulan, Makatubong, Mini, Tagisan, and Seven Hills from Barangay Dela Paz. The boundaries of Barangay Sta. Cruz are defined by specific roads and adjacent barangays. Following a plebiscite to ratify the establishment, the President will appoint the initial officials of Barangay Sta. Cruz until regular elections occur. The plebiscite will be overseen by the Commission on Elections, with associated costs covered by their appropriations.

AN ACT CONSTITUTING SITIOS OF STA. CRUZ, NAGPUSO, CAVALIERS, KAY BAIYA, MAHAL NA POON, TAWID-TAWID, UULAN, MAKATUBONG, MINI, TAGISAN AND SEVEN HILLS, ALL IN BARANGAY DELA PAZ, MUNICIPALITY OF ANTIPOLO, PROVINCE OF RIZAL, INTO A NEW BARANGAY TO BE KNOWN AS BARANGAY STA. CRUZ

SECTION 1.  The sitios of Sta. Cruz, Nagpuso, Cavaliers, Kay Baiya, Mahal na Poon, Tawid-Tawid, Uulan, Makatubong, Mini, Tagisan and Seven Hills all in Barangay Dela Paz, Municipality of Antipolo, Province of Rizal, are hereby separated from Barangay Dela Paz and constituted into a new barangay of the said municipality to be known as Barangay Sta. Cruz.

SECTION 2.  The Barangay Sta. Cruz shall include the area bounded by: N — Marcos Highway, Sumulong Highway and Lukban Road E — Barangay Dela Paz, W — Barangay Mambugan to Marcos Highway near Nangka River.

SECTION 3.  After ratification by the majority of the votes cast in a plebiscite to be conducted in the area affected within one hundred twenty days from the approval of this Act, the President of the Philippines shall appoint the first officials of Barangay Sta. Cruz who shall hold office until their successors shall have been elected and qualified in the next regular barangay election.

SECTION 4.  The Commission on Elections shall conduct and supervise the plebiscite herein provided. The expenses for such plebiscite shall be charged to the appropriations of the Commission on Elections provided in the current annual General Appropriations Act for plebiscites.

SECTION 5.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval. cd i
