Batas Pambansa Blg. 788, enacted on April 27, 1984, establishes Barangay Dalig by separating the sitios of Nayong Silangan, Aba Homes, Dalig, and Tipolo from Barangay San Jose in Antipolo, Rizal. The new barangay is defined by specific geographical boundaries and will be officially recognized following a plebiscite, which must occur within 120 days of the law's approval. The Commission on Elections is tasked with overseeing the plebiscite, and the initial officials of Barangay Dalig will be appointed by the President of the Philippines until the next regular barangay elections. This act took effect upon its approval and was published in the Official Gazette on November 5, 1984.

AN ACT CONSTITUTING SITIOS OF NAYONG SILANGAN, ABA HOMES, DALIG AND TIPOLO ALL IN BARANGAY SAN JOSE, MUNICIPALITY OF ANTIPOLO, PROVINCE OF RIZAL, INTO A NEW BARANGAY TO BE KNOWN AS BARANGAY DALIG

SECTION 1.  The sitios of Nayong Silangan, Aba Homes, Dalig and Tipolo all in Barangay San Jose, Municipality of Antipolo, Province of Rizal, are hereby separated from Barangay San Jose and constituted into a new barangay of the said municipality to be known as Barangay Dalig.

SECTION 2.  The Barangay Dalig shall include the area bounded by: N — Antipolo-Teresa National Road, E — Municipality of Teresa, S — municipalities of Teresa and Angono, W — Antipolo-Darangan Road.

SECTION 3.  After ratification by the majority of the votes cast in a plebiscite to be conducted in the area affected within one hundred twenty days from the approval of this Act, the President of the Philippines shall appoint the first officials of Barangay Dalig who shall hold office until their successors shall have been elected and qualified in the next regular barangay election.

SECTION 4.  The Commission on Elections shall conduct and supervise the plebiscite herein provided. The expenses for such plebiscite shall be charged to the appropriations of the Commission on Elections provided in the current annual General Appropriations Act for plebiscites.

SECTION 5.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
