AUTHORIZING THE CREATION OF AN EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE TO TAKE CHARGE OF HOSTING THE 1987 LIONS CLUBS INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION ON JUNE 23-27, 1987 AND AUTHORIZING IT TO CONDUCT A FUND CAMPAIGN DURING THE PERIOD FROM MARCH 1, 1985 TO JULY 31, 1987
WHEREAS, the International Association of Lions Clubs is a world wide civic organization composed of service and civic-spirited citizens of all freedom loving nations committed to the promotion of world peace, mutual understanding, and unselfish service to mankind;
WHEREAS, the City of Manila and the Local Lions Organization which is known as Multiple District 301 has taken steps to pursue the national government's program of promoting the Philippines as a tourist and convention destination;
WHEREAS, the City of Manila and the Philippines Lions were extended the distinct honor and privilege to best the 1987 Lions International Convention on June 23-27, 1987:
WHEREAS, the delegates coming from all over the world to attend the Convention will total to around 20,000 which will further enhance the trade and tourism industries of the country;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the creation of an Executive Committee to take charge of hosting the 1987 Lions International Convention and authorizing it to conduct a fund raising campaign for the period from March 1985 to July 31, 1987.
The committee shall be composed of the following members with the First Lady, Madam Imelda Romualdez Marcos as Honorary Chairman:

The Committee is hereby authorized to call upon any ministry, bureau, office, agency or instrumentality of the government for such assistance as it may need in the discharge of its duties and functions.
