| SUBJECT | : | COVID-19 Information System |
To ensure an effective and timely response to the COVID-19 crisis, we need reliable and relevant information on disease trends and clustering and close contact profiles. The Department of Health (DOH) fully recognizes the need for an efficient and effective data infrastructure for COVID-19 surveillance and management. The COVID-19 Information System "covidkaya19to" was developed and provided to health facilities to achieve this goal. However, to enhance the capacity of the COVID-19 Information System, the "covidkaya" information system was developed with assistance from the World Health Organization (WHO) and Dure Technologies to capture and analyze COVID-19 data and transform this data into meaningful information.
In this regard, DOH hereby informs all health facilities, community quarantine units, and temporary treatment and monitoring facilities catering to suspect, probable, and/or confirmed COVID-19 patients as well as facilities, agencies, institutions, and organizations, both private and public, who conduct laboratory testing for COVID-19 confirmation of this enhanced COVID-19 Information System. The enhanced COVID-19 Information System will be called "covidkaya" and it will have platforms for:
1. case tracking and close contact investigation;
2. laboratory sample tracking;
3. community engagement;
4. capacity building and decision support; and
5. output-global monitoring and situation room dashboard which is modifiable at different level.
The Department of Health, through EB and KMITS shall ensure the use of this system and capacitate stakeholders on a nationwide scale.
Dissemination of the information to all concerned is requested.
(SGD.) FRANCISCO T. DUQUE III, MD, MScSecretary of Health
