Conversion of Southern Mindanao School of Fisheries at Zamboanga City into Mindanao Regional School of Fisheries

Republic Act No. 3434, enacted on June 18, 1961, converts the Southern Mindanao School of Fisheries in Zamboanga City into the Mindanao Regional School of Fisheries. This new institution will offer a two-year technical curriculum in fisheries alongside existing courses. The Act allocates 208,000 pesos from the National Treasury for its conversion, operation, and maintenance during the fiscal year 1962, with future funding to be included in annual General Appropriation Acts. The law takes effect upon its approval and was published in the Official Gazette on July 9, 1962.

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 3434

AN ACT CONVERTING THE SOUTHERN MINDANAO SCHOOL OF FISHERIES AT ZAMBOANGA CITY, INTO A REGIONAL SCHOOL OF FISHERIES TO BE KNOWN AS THE MINDANAO REGIONAL SCHOOL OF FISHERIES, AND AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS THEREFOR

SECTION 1. The Southern Mindanao School of Fisheries located at Zamboanga City is hereby converted into a regional school of fisheries to be known as the Mindanao Regional School of Fisheries which shall offer a two-year technical curriculum in fisheries in addition to the courses now offered.

SECTION 2. The sum of two hundred eight thousand pesos is hereby authorized to be appropriated, out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the conversion, operation and maintenance of said school during the fiscal year nineteen hundred sixty-two. Thereafter, the necessary sum for its operation and maintenance shall be included in the annual General Appropriation Acts. cdt

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
