REPUBLIC ACT NO. 685

AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF THE SUM OF ONE MILLION TWO HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND PESOS FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF BRANCHES OF THE PHILIPPINE INSTITUTE OF FISHERIES TECHNOLOGY AND SUB-STATIONS OF THE BUREAU OF FISHERIES IN CERTAIN PROVINCE OF THE PHILIPPINES

SECTION 1. The sum of one million two hundred fifty thousand pesos is hereby authorized to be appropriated, out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the following purpose:

1. For the establishment and maintenance
 
  of a branch of the Philippine Institute of
 
  Fisheries Technology to be known as the
 
  Eastern Visayas Branch, to take the place of
 
  the Catbalogan School of Fisheries, in
 
  Catbalogan, Samar 
P100,000.00
     
 
2. For the establishment and maintenance
 
  of a branch of the Philippine Institute of
 
  Fisheries Technology at Estancia, Iloilo, to
 
  be known as the Western Visayas Branch,
 
  which shall serve also as a training station in
 
  canning and fish preservation

3. For the establishment and maintenance
 
  of a branch of the Philippine Institute of
 
  Fisheries Technology in any suitable place
 
  in the Bicol region that may be determined 
 
  by the Director of Fisheries

4. For the establishment and maintenance
 
  of a branch of the Philippine Institute of
 
  Fisheries Technology in Zamboanga City to
 
  be known as the Southern Mindanao Branch

5. For the establishment and maintenance
 
  of a sub-station of the Bureau of Fisheries
 
  in Calapan, Mindoro

6. For the establishment and maintenance
 
  of sub-station of the Bureau of Fisheries
 
  in La Union

7. For the establishment and maintenance
 
  of a sub-station of the Bureau of Fisheries
 
  somewhere in Malampaya, Palawan, which
 
  will be a production unit and training station
 
  for students in fish capture and fish culture
