Batas Pambansa Blg. 169, enacted on February 8, 1982, converts the San Nicolas Barangay High School in Tapaz, Capiz, into a national high school, named San Nicolas National High School. The Minister of Education and Culture is tasked with overseeing the conversion and operation of the school. An initial budget of two hundred thousand pesos is allocated for its operation, with the local government expected to contribute to its maintenance. Future funding for the school's operation will be included in the annual General Appropriations Act starting from 1983. The law took effect upon its approval.

AN ACT CONVERTING THE SAN NICOLAS BARANGAY HIGH SCHOOL IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF TAPAZ, PROVINCE OF CAPIZ, INTO A NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL, TO BE KNOWN AS THE SAN NICOLAS NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL

SECTION 1. The San Nicolas Barangay High School in the Municipality of Tapaz, Province of Capiz, is hereby converted into a national high school, to be known as the San Nicolas High School.

SECTION 2. The Minister of Education and Culture is hereby directed to take necessary steps for the conversion and operation of said school and immediate implementation of this Act.

SECTION 3. The amount of two hundred thousand pesos for the operation of the school shall be charged to the appropriations authorized by Batas Pambansa Blg. 80 and Batas Pambansa Blg. 131 for the Ministry of Education and Culture intended for new national schools: Provided, That the local government unit concerned shall continue to provide its share in the cost of operating and maintaining said school. Starting Calendar Year 1983 such sum as may be necessary for the operation and maintenance of the school shall be provided in the annual General Appropriations Act.

SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval. cdt
