Batas Pambansa Blg. 557, enacted on June 24, 1983, converts the Leonora S. Salapantan Municipal High School in San Miguel, Iloilo, into a national high school, now named the Leonora S. Salapantan National High School. The law allocates an initial funding of 100,000 pesos for the school's operation, sourced from the appropriations authorized for new national high schools and additional budgetary aid. Future operational and maintenance costs will be included in the annual General Appropriations Act. The act takes effect upon approval and was published in the Official Gazette on April 30, 1984.

AN ACT CONVERTING THE LEONORA S. SALAPANTAN MUNICIPAL HIGH SCHOOL (FORMERLY SAN MIGUEL L. SALAPANTAN MUNICIPAL HIGH SCHOOL) IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF SAN MIGUEL, PROVINCE OF ILOILO, INTO A NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL TO BE KNOWN AS THE LEONORA S. SALAPANTAN NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL

SECTION 1. The Leonora S. Salapantan Municipal High School in the Municipality of San Miguel, Province of Iloilo, is converted into a national high school to be known as the Leonora S. Salapantan National High School. cd i

SECTION 2. The amount of one hundred thousand pesos for the operation of the school shall be funded out of the appropriations authorized by Batas Pambansa Blg. 230 for the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports intended for new national high school and an additional amount corresponding to fifty percent of its share in the budgetary aid actually paid to it before such conversion shall be released for its operation from the national assistance fund to local schools. Thereafter, such sum as may be necessary for its operation and maintenance shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
