Batas Pambansa Blg. 498, enacted on June 10, 1983, converts the Dumangas Comprehensive High School in Iloilo into the Dumangas Polytechnic College. The Act mandates the transfer of all personnel, assets, liabilities, and records from the high school to the new college. It also reallocates existing funds previously designated for the high school to support the operations of the college, with future funding to be included in General Appropriations Acts. The law took effect upon its approval and was published in the Official Gazette on April 16, 1984.

AN ACT CONVERTING THE DUMANGAS COMPREHENSIVE HIGH SCHOOL IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF DUMANGAS, PROVINCE OF ILOILO, INTO A POLYTECHNIC COLLEGE TO BE KNOWN AS THE DUMANGAS POLYTECHNIC COLLEGE, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR
SECTION 1. The Dumangas Comprehensive High School in the Municipality of Dumangas, Province of Iloilo, is converted into a polytechnic college to be known as the Dumangas Polytechnic College. acd
SECTION 2. All personnel, assets, liabilities and records of the Dumangas Comprehensive High School are transferred to/absorbed by the Dumangas Polytechnic College.
SECTION 3. The existing appropriations for the Dumangas Comprehensive High School are hereby transferred to the Dumangas Polytechnic College, to be disbursed in accordance with the provisions of this Act. Thereafter, the necessary sum for the operation and maintenance of the college shall be provided for in subsequent General Appropriations Acts. cdt
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
