Conversion of Barrio Arteche, Samar Into a Municipality
Republic Act No. 607, enacted on April 27, 1951, establishes the municipality of Arteche in the Province of Samar, separating it from the municipality of Oras. This new municipality comprises the barrios of San Ramon, Carapdapan, Beri, Tangbo, Catumsan, Bego, Concepcion, Casidman, Tawagan, and Tibalawon, with its municipal government based in San Ramon. The municipal mayor, vice-mayor, and councilors for Arteche will be appointed by the President of the Philippines until elections can be held. The Act took effect upon its approval and was published in the Official Gazette in June 1951.

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 607
AN ACT CREATING THE BARRIO OF ARTECHE, PROVINCE OF SAMAR INTO A MUNICIPALITY
SECTION 1. The barrios of San Ramon, Carapdapan, Beri, Tangbo, Catumsan, Bego, Concepcion, Casidman, Tawagan, and Tibalawon, are hereby separated from the municipality of Oras, Province of Samar, and constituted as a separate and independent municipality to be known as the municipality of Arteche in the Province of Samar with its seat of municipal government in the barrio of San Ramon. aisa dc
SECTION 2. The municipal mayor, vice-mayor and councilors of the new municipality shall be appointed by the President of the Republic of the Philippines, to hold office until their successors are elected and qualified.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
