Automatic Listing of Securities in All Stock Exchanges
Presidential Decree No. 167, issued on April 2, 1973, mandates the automatic listing of securities approved by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) across all stock exchanges in the Philippines to enhance property ownership and profit distribution among the public. This decree aims to facilitate broader public participation in the economy and improve capital formation for national development. However, the automatic listing does not apply to new stock exchanges until they meet specific operational standards set by the SEC. The SEC also retains the authority to revoke or suspend listings under certain conditions, ensuring investor protection.
