PAO OFFICE ORDER NO. 178-07

In the interest of the service, and pursuant to Republic Act No. 9406 (PAO Law), which took effect on April 15, 2007 and legislating into a law that made the PAO an independent and autonomous office (but attached to the Department of Justice for purposes of policy and program coordination) per its self-executory provisions, the travel authority of PAO officials and employees intending to travel abroad not exceeding thirty (30) days shall now be signed alternately by the two (2) Deputy Chief Public Attorneys if no government funds shall be used for that purpose. The Administrative Division and Executive Division are hereby ordered to maintain a log book (Re: Travel Order) recording every issuance pertinent thereto.
All applications for authority shall be filed within thirty (30) days before the intended travel except in emergency and exceptional circumstances.
Applicants are hereby directed to properly turn-over all their assigned workload/cases and property accountabilities to his/her immediate supervisor for record purposes.
A Certificate of Clearance, with attached travel requirements, must also be filed for signature of the Regional Public Attorney (for the region) or Division Chief concerned (for the Central Office) and then forwarded to the Administrative Division, PAO-Central Office, for processing.
This Order shall take effect immediately and shall remain in force until further orders.
All prior office issuances inconsistent herewith are hereby revoked/rescinded accordingly.
Let all concerned be furnished with a copy of this Order for their information and guidance.
