Authorizing the Secretary of National Defense to Procure Common Items for the Armed Forces

LETTER OF INSTRUCTIONS NO. 275

In order to improve the DND-AFP Procurement System as it pertains to common items needed by the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and as an exception to the provisions of Executive Order No. 298, s-40, you are authorized to enter into government contracts, medium or long-term, for the purpose of furnishing supplies, materials and equipment to the Armed Forces of the Philippines through negotiation as a mode of procurement. cdt
It is understood that this exception is applicable only to the procurement of common items that are required in the Armed Forces, a list is hereby attached.
In this connection, rules and regulations shall be promulgated to govern implementation of this letter of instructions.

11. Belt Suspender
12. Jungle Pack
13. Ammo Belt
14. Canteen Cup with cover
15. Meat Can
16. Spoons
17. Knives
18. Waving Equipment
19. Shelter Halves
20. Rain Coat
21. Poncho
22. Entrenching-Tools
23. 60mm Ammo Carrier
24. Duffle Bag

32. Such other items of similar nature as may later be determined by the Secretary of National Defense.
