Authority to Municipal Councils to Establish Municipal Warehouses
Act No. 3929, enacted on November 28, 1932, authorizes municipal councils in the Philippines to establish warehouses for storing products belonging to planters. The councils have the authority to regulate these warehouses and set storage fees, which will fund the operation and maintenance of the facilities. These municipal warehouses are exempt from certain regulatory requirements and the personnel managing them must be bonded, although this bond does not cover losses from unforeseen natural disasters. The Act aims to enhance the storage capacity and support agricultural producers within municipalities.
