ACT NO. 3558
AN ACT CREATING THE POSITION OF ASSISTANT PROVINCIAL TREASURER
SECTION 1. A new section is hereby inserted between sections two thousand and eighty-eight and two thousand and eighty-nine of the Administrative Code, which shall be known as section two thousand and eighty-eight (A) and shall read as follows:
"SEC. 2088 (A). Assistant provincial treasurer. — In the office of the provincial treasurer in each province, there shall be an assistant provincial treasurer who shall be appointed by the provincial treasurer subject to the approval of the Secretary of the Interior in conformity with the provisions of the Civil Service Law. His compensation shall be fixed by the provincial board with the approval of the Secretary of the Interior.
"The assistant provincial treasurer shall perform the duties which are being performed by the chief clerk and deputy of the provincial treasurer at the time of the approval of this Act and such other duties as the provincial treasurer may assign to him. The present position of chief clerk in the office of the provincial treasurer is hereby abolished and shall not be recreated except by law."
SECTION 2. The actual chief clerks in the offices of the provincial treasurers in the different provinces of the Archipelago shall ipso facto become assistant provincial treasurers.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on its approval.
