Approval of the Preliminary Results of the Census Population of the Philippines
Letter of Instructions No. 1083, issued by President Ferdinand E. Marcos on November 19, 1980, directs all government entities to utilize the preliminary results of the 1980 population census for planning and development activities while awaiting the final report. This follows the mandate of Batas Pambansa Blg. 72, which requires an integrated census every ten years. The preliminary census data, covering population counts by municipality, city, and province, is approved for official use to address the high demand for population statistics. The instructions take effect immediately to aid in population-related planning and appraisal.
