An Act to Provide that Preference in Dispatching shall be Given to Cases Involving Conflicts between Capital and Labor
Commonwealth Act No. 279, enacted on June 3, 1938, mandates that cases involving conflicts between capital and labor be prioritized by the courts of the Philippines over ordinary civil cases. The Act stipulates that hearings in such cases should not be postponed for more than a week, unless justified by the court for valid reasons. Clerks of courts are tasked with promptly including these cases in their dockets, provided the plaintiff submits an affidavit confirming the case falls under this Act. Additionally, ongoing cases at the time of the Act's approval must also be prioritized according to their filing order.
