An Act to Provide Provincial Fiscals for the Provinces of the Late Department of Mindanao and Sulu
Act No. 2942, enacted on February 16, 1921, establishes provincial fiscals for the provinces previously under the Department of Mindanao and Sulu. It amends an earlier act to ensure that various government departments will maintain their jurisdiction and duties in these provinces as they would in regularly organized provinces. The act abolishes additional positions in the Bureau of Justice and mandates the appointment of provincial fiscals in each province, ensuring they are qualified similarly to those in other provinces. Salaries are specified, with Davao, Sulu, and Zamboanga fiscals earning 4,000 pesos annually, while Agusan, Bukidnon, Cotabato, and Lanao fiscals earn 3,000 pesos. The act takes effect upon approval.
