Commonwealth Act No. 119, enacted on November 3, 1936, allocates 250,000 pesos from the Philippine Treasury for the reforestation and afforestation of various public forest lands, including watersheds, denuded areas, and communal forests. The funds are to be managed by the Director of Forestry, subject to the approval of the Secretary of Agriculture and Commerce. The Act mandates that a report on the progress of these reforestation efforts be submitted to the National Assembly by the Director of Forestry in early 1937, detailing locations, costs, and other relevant information. The law aims to promote the growth of economic trees and protect against erosion and flooding.
