An Act to Amend Section Sixteen of Act Numbered Eleven Hundred and Twenty, Known as the Friar Lands Act

ACT NO. 2945
AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION SIXTEEN OF ACT NUMBERED ELEVEN HUNDRED AND TWENTY, KNOWN AS THE FRIAR LANDS ACT
SECTION 1. Section sixteen of Act Numbered Eleven hundred and twenty is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SEC. 16. In the event of the death of a holder of a certificate the issuance of which is provided for in section twelve hereof, prior to the execution of a deed by the Government to any purchaser, the interest of the holder of the certificate shall descend and deed shall issue to the persons who under the laws of the Philippine Islands would have taken had the title been perfected before the death of the holder of the certificate, upon proof of compliance with all the requirements of the certificate. In case the holder of the certificate shall have sold his interest in the land before having complied with all the conditions thereof, the purchaser shall have all the rights of the holder of the certificate upon presenting his assignment to the Chief of the Bureau of Public Lands for registration."
SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect on its approval.
