An Act to Amend Act Numbered Seven Hundred and Nine, as Amended, by Authorizing the Governor-General to Extend Said Act or Any Part Thereof by Proclamation to Any Military or Naval Reservation or to Any Place or Premises within a Distance Not Exceeding Two Miles of Any Such Reservation
Act No. 1904, enacted on May 19, 1909, amends a previous law (Act No. 709) that prohibits the sale of intoxicating liquors near military or naval reservations in the Philippines. It grants the Governor-General the authority to extend these prohibitions to additional public lands reserved for military purposes, or to areas within two miles of such reservations, excluding the central part of municipalities. The amendment allows this extension to occur at the request of military commanders. The act takes effect immediately upon its passage.

ACT NO. 1904
AN ACT TO AMEND ACT NUMBERED SEVEN HUNDRED AND NINE, AS AMENDED, BY AUTHORIZING THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL TO EXTEND SAID ACT OR ANY PART THEREOF BY PROCLAMATION TO ANY MILITARY OR NAVAL RESERVATION OR TO ANY PLACE OR PREMISES WITHIN A DISTANCE NOT EXCEEDING TWO MILES OF ANY SUCH RESERVATION
SECTION 1. Section one of Act Numbered Seven hundred and nine, entitled "An Act prohibiting the traffic in intoxicating liquors within certain distances of lands used by the United States for military purposes and at certain camps therein named," as amended, is hereby further amended by adding at the end thereof the following:
"Provided further, That the Governor-General, upon the request of the commanding general of the Philippine Division, or the admiral commanding the Philippine Squadron, may, in his discretion, by proclamation, extend Act Numbered Seven hundred and nine, as amended, or any part thereof, to any public lands reserved by the President of the United States for military or naval purposes in the Philippine Islands, or to any place or premises within a distance to be prescribed in such proclamation, not exceeding two miles, of any such reservation, provided that within such distance the central part (casco de población) of a municipality is not included."
SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
