ACT NO. 2202
AN ACT TO AMEND ACT NUMBERED SEVEN HUNDRED AND NINE, AS AMENDED, BY AUTHORIZING THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL TO REGULATE THE ISSUE OF LICENSES AND SALE OF LIQUORS IN MILITARY ZONES IN WHICH SUCH SALE IS PROHIBITED AND TO REVOKE SUCH AUTHORIZATIONS
SECTION 1. Section one of Act Numbered Seven hundred and nine as amended by Acts Numbered Seven hundred and sixty, Eleven hundred and sixty-nine, Thirteen hundred and eighty-one, Nineteen hundred and four, and Nineteen hundred and fifty-one is hereby further amended by adding at the end thereof the following:
"And provided further, That the Governor-General is authorized in his discretion, of his own accord or upon petition of the municipal council interested, to revoke by proclamation any of the exceptions made by existing statutes in favor of specified places within zones surrounding existing military reservations, in which event the restriction against the sale of liquors shall become effective, and to authorize and regulate the sale of liquors within any prohibited zone surrounding any military reservation now existing or which may be hereafter established, the provisions of existing law to the contrary notwithstanding."
SECTION 2. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this bill, the same shall take effect on its passage, in accordance with section one of Act Numbered Nineteen hundred and forty-five of the Philippine Legislature.
