ACT NO. 2237
AN ACT PROVIDING FOR THE INCREASE OF THE PAY OF THE PRIVATES AND MEMBERS OF THE BAND OF THE PHILIPPINE CONSTABULARY, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
SECTION 1. The pay to be received by each private of the Philippine Constabulary is hereby increased two pesos over the present pay: Provided, That the present rates of reenlistment premiums of the noncommissioned officers and privates of said corps shall continue in force and effect.
SECTION 2. Unless otherwise provided for by law, the band of the Philippine Constabulary shall consist, besides its present conductor, who shall continue to receive the same pay, of the following personnel, with the pay fixed in this section: One assistant conductor, who shall receive one hundred pesos per month; six soloist professors, at sixty pesos per month each; twenty-seven first-class musicians, at forty-five pesos per month each; and forty-six second-class musicians, at forty pesos per month each.
The members of the Constabulary band shall obligate themselves to serve for a period of not less than four years, counting from the date of the passage of this Act, during which time no member of said band shall be permitted to belong to any other musical organization of an official or private character.
SECTION 3. All so-called district bands of the Philippine Constabulary are hereby abolished.
SECTION 4. The sum of one hundred and eight thousand pesos or so much thereof as may be necessary, out of any funds in the Insular Treasury not otherwise appropriated, is hereby declared available to increase the funds appropriated for the Bureau of Constabulary, to make it possible to comply with the provisions of this Act.
SECTION 5. All Acts or parts of Acts inconsistent with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed.
SECTION 6. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
