ACT NO. 2090
AN ACT MAKING DECEMBER TWENTY-SEVENTH OF EACH YEAR THE DATE FOR THE CELEBRATION OF THE LOCAL FIESTA OF GUMACA, PROVINCE OF TAYABAS
WHEREAS, the municipal council of Gumaca, Province of Tayabas, has petitioned that December twenty-seventh instead of February fourth of each year be designated for the celebration of the local fiesta of the municipality, for the reason that the foundation of the municipality of Gumaca took place on said date; and
WHEREAS, this petition is due to the desire of the people of Gumaca worthily to commemorate that event:
Now, therefore,
SECTION 1. The date for the celebration of the local fiestas of Gumaca, Province of Tayabas, is hereby fixed on December twenty-seventh instead of February fourth of each year. This change of date shall take effect immediately, notwithstanding any provision to the contrary of Act Numbered Two thousand and fifty-four: Provided, However, That the celebration of said fiesta in the present year shall not be construed to authorize the municipality of Gumaca to permit cockfighting thereat.
SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
ENACTED, December 23, 1911.
