ACT NO. 2283
AN ACT MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR PUBLIC WORKS AND PERMANENT IMPROVEMENTS IN THE PROVINCES OF AGUSAN AND NUEVA VIZCAYA, THE MOUNTAIN PROVINCE, AND THE MORO PROVINCE
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as may be respectively necessary, are hereby appropriated, out of any funds in the Insular Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for public works and permanent improvements in the Provinces of Agusan and Nueva Vizcaya, the Mountain Province, and the Moro Province.
PROVINCE OF AGUSAN
(a) For the construction of roads, trails and bridges; for removing obstructions in river channels; for land transportation equipment; for storehouse for oil and gasoline at Butuan; for purchase of an additional motor launch; and for general equipment, including purchase of tools, track and dump cars for use in the construction of public works; twenty-seven thousand six hundred pesos.
PROVINCE OF NUEVA VIZCAYA
(b) For the construction of roads, trails and bridges; and for purchase of sawmill equipment; fourteen thousand three hundred pesos.
MOUNTAIN PROVINCE
(c) For the improvement of the Naguilian Road; for telephone line on Naguilian Road; and for the purchase of a road roller for use on the Naguilian Road; eighteen thousand two hundred pesos.
BUREAU OF HEALTH
(d) For the development and enlargement of hospitals already established and providing for the disposal of sewage and waste in the Provinces of Agusan, Nueva Vizcaya, the Mountain Province, and the Moro Province, to be allotted by the Secretary of the Interior on recommendation of the Director of Health, thirty thousand pesos.
BUREAU OF FORESTRY
(e) For the purchase of a launch, six thousand pesos.
DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE AND POLICE
(f) For the drilling of artesian wells and to obtain water by other means, including the cost of new equipment and pumping plants, when necessary, and for the construction of irrigation works, to be allotted in the discretion of the Secretary of Commerce and Police, twenty thousand pesos.
BUREAU OF PUBLIC WORKS
(g) For the construction of pipe drains in Government Center; for the maintenance of Government Center buildings and grounds; for miscellaneous expenditures not otherwise provided for; for the maintenance and equipment of Mansion House, stable and grounds; for the purchase, maintenance and operation of fire equipment; for regulation and safeguarding of traffic on the Benguet Road; seventy-one thousand pesos.
BUREAU OF CONSTABULARY
(h) For construction and improvement of quarters and barracks in the Provinces of Agusan and Nueva Vizcaya, the Mountain Province and the Moro Province, to be allotted by the Secretary of Commerce and Police on recommendation of the Director of Constabulary, thirty thousand pesos.
BUREAU OF COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY
(i) For a survey of the Agusan River, two thousand pesos.
BUREAU OF EDUCATION
(j) For aid in the construction of school buildings in the Mountain Province and in the Provinces of Nueva Vizcaya and Agusan, to be allotted in the discretion of the Secretary of Public Instruction, fifty thousand pesos.
MISCELLANEOUS
(k) To cover a deficiency in the appropriation made by Act Numbered Nineteen hundred and ninety-seven for the establishment and maintenance of a public park in the municipality of Dapitan, Moro Province, in memory of Jose Rizal, two hundred and forty-one pesos and sixty-two centavos.
Total for all purposes, two hundred and sixty-nine thousand three hundred and forty-one pesos and sixty-two centavos.
SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
