An Act Making Applicable to that Part of the Philippine Islands Inhabited by Moros or Other Non-Christian Tribes Act Numbered Twenty-Two Hundred and Thirty-Nine of the Philippine Legislature, Entitled "An Act Amending Section Twelve of Act Numbered One Hundred and Ninety, as Amended, by Providing that Until January First, Nineteen Hundred and Twenty, Both English and Spanish shall be Official Languages, and for Other Purposes"
Act No. 2269, enacted on February 26, 1913, extends the provisions of Act No. 2239, which established English and Spanish as official languages until January 1, 1920, to areas of the Philippine Islands inhabited by Moros and other non-Christian tribes. The Act aims to ensure that these regions are included under the same legal framework regarding language use. Additionally, it retroactively validates any records, judgments, orders, and proceedings that would have been considered null and void without this Act. The law reflects an effort to unify governance across diverse cultural groups within the Philippines.
