An Act for the Relief of Fred J. Schlotfeldt, Treasurer of the Province of Cebu
Act No. 1460, enacted on March 5, 1906, authorizes the Auditor for the Philippine Islands to credit Fred J. Schlotfeldt, the treasurer of Cebu, with 4,880 pesos. This amount was lost when John S. Stevenson, a deputy treasurer, capsized a banca while transporting it for currency exchange on behalf of the Insular Treasury. The Act also directs the Auditor to charge the lost sum against the "gold-standard fund" of the Insular Treasury. It emphasizes the urgency of the bill's passage for the public good and takes effect immediately upon enactment.
