An Act Exempting Small Vessels from the Requirements of Act Numbered Seven Hundred and Eighty, Entitled "An Act Providing fort Examination and Licensing of Applicants for the Positions of Master, Mate, Patron, and Engineer of Seagoing Vessels in the Philippine Coastwise Trade, and Prescribing the Number of Engineers to be Employed by Such Vessels"
Act No. 1066, enacted on February 26, 1904, exempts small vessels from certain licensing requirements previously established in Act No. 780. Specifically, steam vessels under 100 tons and sailing vessels under 150 tons are no longer required to carry licensed officers, although steam-powered vessels must still employ a licensed engineer. The Act emphasizes the necessity for prompt enactment for public good and takes effect immediately upon its passage. This legislative change aims to streamline regulations for smaller vessels in the Philippine coastwise trade.
