ACT NO. 2909
AN ACT ESTABLISHING AND GRANTING A LIFE PENSION FOR THE HONORABLE CAYETANO S. ARELLANO, UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS
SECTION 1. In consideration of the long and meritorious services rendered to the Government and the People of the Philippine Islands by the Honorable Cayetano S. Arellano, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Philippine Islands, there is hereby established and granted to him a life pension of twelve thousand pesos per annum, which shall be paid to him in monthly installments, at the end of each month, by the Insular Treasurer of the Philippine Islands, beginning with the day next following the one on which the said Honorable Cayetano S. Arellano shall have finally left his present position on the Supreme Court.
SECTION 2. For the purposes of the foregoing section, the sum of ten thousand pesos or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any funds in the Insular Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the payment of said pension for the year nineteen hundred and twenty, and any portion of said sum remaining unexpended on December thirty-first, nineteen hundred and twenty, shall revert to the Insular Treasury.
SECTION 3. The sum necessary for the payment of the pension provided for in this Act shall be appropriated in the General Appropriation each year. ICHDca
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on its approval.
