Republic Act No. 8843, enacted on August 22, 2000, converts the Raja Soliman High School in Manila into the Raja Soliman Science and Technology High School. This new institution is designated to offer secondary, vocational, and technological courses, along with a skills training program. The Department of Education, Culture and Sports is tasked with establishing the necessary rules and regulations for implementation. Additionally, all personnel, records, and assets from the original school will be transferred to the new institution, with funding for its initial operation drawn from the existing budget and future needs included in the annual General Appropriations Act. The law took effect upon its approval.

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 8843

AN ACT CONVERTING THE RAJA SOLIMAN HIGH SCHOOL IN THE THIRD DISTRICT OF MANILA INTO A NATIONAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY HIGH SCHOOL TO BE KNOWN AS THE RAJA SOLIMAN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY HIGH SCHOOL AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR

SECTION 1. The Raja Soliman High School in the Third District of Manila is hereby converted into a national science and technology high school to be known as the Raja Soliman Science and Technology High School.

SECTION 2. The Department of Education, Culture and Sports shall issue such rules and regulations as may be necessary to carry out the purpose of this Act. TIESCA

SECTION 3. The Raja Soliman Science and Technology High School shall offer secondary, vocational and technological courses and a skills training program.

SECTION 4. All personnel, records, assets and liabilities of the Raja Soliman High School are hereby transferred to and absorbed by the Raja Soliman Science and Technology High School.

SECTION 5. The amount necessary for the initial implementation of this Act shall be charged against the current year's appropriations of the Raja Soliman High School. Thereafter, such sums as may be necessary for the continuous operation and maintenance of the Raja Soliman Science and Technology High School shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act. SECTION 6. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
