An Act Amending Act Numbered Three Thousand One Hundred and Fourteen which Appropriates One Million Pesos to be Disbursed as Insular Aid for the Construction and Equipment of Hospitals in the Regularly Organized Provinces, Adding New Section thereto and for other Purposes
Act No. 3168, approved on October 15, 1924, amends previous legislation to allocate one million pesos for the construction, equipment, operation, and maintenance of hospitals in regularly organized provinces in the Philippines. Provinces must contribute a specified percentage of the total costs—40% for first-class, 35% for second-class, and 30% for others—to qualify for this insular aid. Additionally, the act mandates that provinces and municipalities set aside a percentage of their general funds annually for hospital operations, with specific higher requirements for the municipality housing the hospital. The act also stipulates the funds must be exclusively used for hospital purposes and that hospital personnel will have insular status. The provisions of this act will take effect upon approval.
