Amendments to Charter of Cebu City Re: Salary of Police Chief and Other Officers

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 2672

AN ACT TO AMEND CERTAIN SECTIONS OF THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF CEBU

SECTION 1. The last sentence of Section thirty-two of Commonwealth Act Numbered Fifty-eight, otherwise known as the Charter of the City of Cebu, as amended, is further amended to read as follows:

"The chief of police shall receive a salary of seven thousand two hundred pesos per annum."

SECTION 2. Section thirty-three of the same Act, as amended, is further amended to read as follows:

"Sec. 33. Assistant chief of police: Commissioned officers. — There shall be an assistant chief of police whose duties shall be to act as chief of police in the absence or inability to act as the chief of police, and under the direction of such chief to look after the discipline of the police force and to perform such other duties as may be imposed upon him by the chief or prescribed by law or ordinance. He shall receive a salary of six thousand pesos per annum.

"Commissioned officers under the police force shall receive salaries as follows: for major, four thousand eight hundred pesos per annum; for captain, four thousand two hundred pesos per annum; for first lieutenant, three thousand six hundred pesos per annum; and for second lieutenant, three thousand pesos per annum."

SECTION 3. The last sentence of Section thirty-four of the same Act, as amended, is further amended to read as follows:

"He shall receive a salary of five thousand four hundred pesos per annum." casia

SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
