Amendment to Section 107 of C.A. No. 141 Re: Use of Official Seal of the Department of Agriculture in Patents and Certificates
Republic Act No. 1240, enacted on June 7, 1955, amends Commonwealth Act No. 141 regarding the signing of land patents and certificates. The Act allows the President to delegate the authority to sign these documents to the Secretary and Undersecretary of Agriculture and Natural Resources, depending on the size of the land. Patents for lands exceeding 144 hectares will bear the official seal of the Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources instead of the great seal of the Republic. This amendment aims to streamline the issuance of land grants while maintaining the legal framework for land conveyance as defined in the Land Registration Act. The law took effect upon its approval.
