Amendment to Sec. 1498 of Act No. 2835
Act No. 3246, approved on December 1, 1925, amends Section 1498 of Act No. 2835 regarding the taxation of playing cards. It establishes a tax of one peso on each pack of playing cards containing up to fifty-eight cards. For packs with more than fifty-eight cards, the tax is one peso plus an additional proportionate tax based on the number of cards exceeding fifty-eight. This amendment is effective upon its approval.

ACT NO. 3246
AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION FOURTEEN HUNDRED AND NINETY-EIGHT OF ACT NUMBERED TWENTY-EIGHT HUNDRED AND THIRTY-FIVE, INCREASING THE TAX ON PLAYING CARDS
SECTION 1. Section fourteen hundred and ninety-eight of Act Numbered Twenty-eight hundred and thirty-five is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SEC. 1498. Tax on playing cards. — (1) On each pack of cards containing not more than fifty-eight cards, there shall be collected a tax of one peso. (2) On each pack containing more than fifty-eight cards, there shall be collected the tax established in the last preceding paragraph and a proportionate additional tax on the number in excess of fifty-eight." SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect on its approval.
