ACT NO. 4141
AN ACT AMENDING SECTION ONE OF ACT NUMBERED FOUR THOUSAND AND TWELVE ENTITLED "AN ACT MAKING AN ANNUAL APPROPRIATION NOT TO EXCEED TWENTY-FIVE THOUSAND PESOS, FROM THE INCOME DERIVED FROM THE PENAL COLONIES UNDER THE BUREAU OF PRISONS, TO CONSTITUTE A SPECIAL FUND FOR THE PROMOTION AND DEVELOPMENT OF AGRICULTURE AND INDUSTRY IN SAID COLONIES AND FOR ENCOURAGING AND PROMOTING VOCATIONAL TRAINING AMONG THE COLONISTS"
SECTION 1. Section one of Act Numbered Four thousand and twelve entitled "An Act making an annual appropriation not to exceed twenty-five thousand pesos, from the income derived from the Penal Colonies under the Bureau of Prisons, to constitute a special fund for the protection and development of agriculture and industry in said colonies and for encouraging and promoting vocational training among the colonists", is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 1. A sum not to exceed twenty-five thousand pesos is hereby set aside annually from the income of the penal colonies, to constitute a special fund which shall be disbursed, subject to the approval of the Secretary of Justice, for the promotion and development of agriculture and industry in penal colonies other than the Iwahig Penal Colony, and for encouraging and promoting vocational training among the colonists: Provided, however, That no part of this fund shall be used for the payment of salaries of any additional personnel in penal colonies established and operated before the year nineteen hundred and thirty-two." SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect on its approval.
