Amendment to Sec. 1 of Act No. 3500
Act No. 4145, approved on November 26, 1934, amends previous legislation to allocate five million pesos from the Insular Treasury for constructing permanent bridges on insular and provincial roads in the Philippines. These bridges will operate as toll bridges for up to twenty years, with toll rates determined by a board including the Secretary of Public Works and Communications. Notably, no tolls will be charged for pedestrians and certain animals or animal-drawn vehicles. The Act emphasizes the role of the Secretary of Public Works and Communications in overseeing the fund's expenditure.
