Amendment to R.A. No. 4221 (Creation of Northern, Eastern and Western Samar)
Republic Act No. 5651 amends Republic Act No. 4221, which originally established the provinces of Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, and Western Samar. The amendment introduces Section 9-A, ensuring that employees separated from service due to the province's division, who are later reappointed, will be recognized as having rendered continuous service. This provision allows these employees to retain the more favorable status of their previous or later appointments. The law took effect upon its approval on June 21, 1969, and was published in the Official Gazette on December 8, 1969.
