Amendment to P.D. No. 428
Presidential Decree No. 429, enacted on April 1, 1974, amends earlier legislation to allow logging concessionaires to export logs before the government's ban on log exportation takes effect on January 1, 1976. The decree permits logging concessionaires to export up to 80% of their production during 1974 and 1975, while those with licenses issued in 1973 and 1974 can export their entire production. This amendment addresses potential economic challenges for recently granted concessionaires who have not yet established adequate processing facilities. The decree aims to provide interim relief to these businesses as they transition to the new policy promoting domestic wood processing.
