ACT NO. 3433
AN ACT CREATING TEN ADDITIONAL POSITIONS OF AUXILIARY JUDGES OF FIRST INSTANCE AND THE NECESSARY SUBORDINATE PERSONNEL, FIXING THEIR RESPECTIVE DUTIES AND SALARIES, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
SECTION 1. In addition to the existing positions of judges and auxiliary judges of first instance, there are hereby created ten positions of auxiliary judges of first instance to be appointed as provided by law. Said auxiliary judges shall be paid a salary of eight thousand pesos per annum each, and shall have the same jurisdiction and powers and privileges as judges of first instance; but unless otherwise required by the interest of the service, they shall be designated by the Secretary of Justice to hear and decide only land registration and cadastral cases.
SECTION 2. The permanent stations of said judges shall be fixed from time to time by the Secretary of Justice.
SECTION 3. For the purpose of carrying out the provisions of this Act, there are hereby created ten positions of stenographers at a salary not exceeding two thousand four hundred pesos per annum each; ten positions of deputy clerks of court at a salary not exceeding one thousand two hundred pesos per annum each; ten positions of interpreters at a salary not exceeding one thousand two hundred pesos per annum each; ten positions of clerks at a salary not exceeding nine hundred and sixty pesos per annum each; ten positions of clerks at a salary not exceeding seven hundred and twenty pesos per annum each; and ten positions of messengers at four hundred and eighty pesos per annum each.
SECTION 4. The employees mentioned in the preceding section, with the exception of the messengers, shall be in the classified service, and, upon the recommendation of the Chief of the General Land Registration Office, shall be appointed by the Secretary of Justice who shall give preference to lawyers, graduates of accredited law schools, or employees who have rendered service in the General Land Registration Office.
SECTION 5. There is hereby appropriated out of any funds in the Insular Treasury, not otherwise appropriated, the sum of one hundred fifty thousand pesos, or so much thereof as may be necessary, for the purpose of carrying out the provisions of this Act. LibLex
