Addendum to Rules on Issuance/Revalidation/Extension of Diplomatic/Official Passport of Dependent Children

This has reference to the numerous appeals for issuance/revalidation/extension of diplomatic/official passports of dependent children who are over 21 years of age with the intent to pursue/further their studies in the countries where their parents are to be posted or currently assigned, and, remain completely dependent on their parents for support.
Such requests may be considered. Diplomatic/Official passports may be issued for one year validity. They may be revalidated/extended subject to the submission of proof of the student's enrollment in an academic institution (undergraduate/graduate/postgraduate) within one year from arrival at post. Otherwise the request for revalidation/extension shall be denied. They may apply for regular passports.
This Department Order supplements D.O. No. 14-96 dated 09 May 1996 and shall take effect immediately. SIcCEA
