NOTICE
Sirs/Mesdames :
Please take notice that the Court, Third Division, issued a Resolution datedJuly 15, 2020, which reads as follows:
"A.C. No. 12785 (Lydio Z. Sison v. Atty. Francisco H. Escaño, Jr.) — The Court NOTES the letter dated November 28, 2019 of Atty. Randall C. Tabayoyong, Director for Bar Discipline of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) Commission on Bar Discipline, transmitting to this Court the documents pertaining to this case.
The June 29, 2018 and May 27, 2019 Notices of Resolution 1 of the Board of Governors (Board) of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) in CBD Case No. 16-5172 are NOTED. Considering that the findings of fact, conclusions of law, and recommendation of the Investigating Commissioner in the attached September 26, 2017 Report and Recommendation, 2 as approved by the Board, are supported by the evidence on record and by applicable laws, the Court ADOPTS and ACCEPTS these findings and recommendations and resolves to SUSPEND respondent Atty. Francisco H. Escaño, Jr. from the practice of law for a period of one (1) year. Respondent is also ORDERED to return to Lydio Z. Sison the full amount of Nine Hundred Ninety-Four Thousand Pesos (P994,000.00) plus legal interest at the rate of six percent (6%) per annum within thirty (30) days from notice hereof. Respondent is also directed to SUBMIT to this Court proof of such payment.
SO ORDERED."
