FIRST DIVISION
[G.R. No. 243564. March 13, 2019.]
FAISAL SALI y SALIK, petitioner, vs.PEOPLE OF THE PHILIPPINES, respondent.
NOTICE
Sirs/Mesdames :
Please take notice that the Court, First Division, issued a Resolution dated March 13, 2019 which reads as follows:
"G.R. No. 243564 — (Faisal Sali y Salik v. People of the Philippines)
After review of the records, the Court resolves to DENY the "petition for the re-opening of final judgment" for failure to sufficiently show legal basis to re-open or review petitioner's judgment of conviction in CA-G.R. CR No. 02936 that had long become final and executory.
The Court's ruling in People v. Lim1 relied upon to support the petition does not apply in this petition. It is well established that a judgment, once it has attained finality, can never be altered, amended, or modified, even if the alteration, amendment or modification is to correct an erroneous judgment. 2
WHEREFORE, the petition is DENIED for lack of merit.
SO ORDERED."
Very truly yours,
(SGD.) LIBRADA C. BUENADivision Clerk of Court
