NOTICE
Sirs/Mesdames :
Please take notice that the Court, Third Division, issued a Resolution dated February 27, 2019, which reads as follows:
"G.R. No. 219588 (PEOPLE OF THE PHILIPPINES, plaintiff-appellee v. ALLAN DELA CALZADA, accused-appellant). — In accordance with the Court of Appeals June 10, 2015 Resolution, 1 the records of this case were elevated to this Court on August 25, 2015. 2 The Resolution gave due course to the Notice of Appeal 3 filed by accused-appellant Allan Dela Calzada.
In compliance with this Court's September 23, 2015 Resolution, 4 both accused-appellant 5 and plaintiff-appellee People of the Philippines, through the Office of the Solicitor General, 6 separately manifested that they were no longer filing supplemental briefs as they have already stated their arguments in their respective briefs before the Court of Appeals.
After an evaluation of the case records, this Court resolves to DISMISS accused-appellant's appeal for his failure to sufficiently show any reversible error in the challenged Court of Appeals March 3, 2015 Decision, 7 warranting the exercise of this Court's appellate jurisdiction.
WHEREFORE, this Court ADOPTS the findings of fact and conclusions of law of the Court of Appeals in its March 3, 2015 Decision in CA-G.R. CEB-CR HC No. 01107, finding accused-appellant Allan Dela Calzada GUILTY beyond reasonable doubt of violating Article II, Section 11 of Republic Act No. 9165. The penalty of life imprisonment and the payment of a fine of Five Hundred Thousand Pesos (P500,000.00) are AFFIRMED.
