BAI ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 02-06
VETERINARY DRUG AND PRODUCTS (VDAP) UNDER THE JURISDICTION OF THE BUREAU OF ANIMAL INDUSTRY (BAI)
Pursuant to the provisions of RA 3720, otherwise known as Food, Drugs and Devices and Cosmetics Act and RA # 6675 or the Generics Act of 1988, the implementation of the Joint Administrative Orders signed by the Department of Agriculture and Department of Health relative to R.A. No. 3720 and the execution of the Memorandum of Agreement between the Bureau of Animal Industry and the Bureau of Food and Drugs (BFAD) of 1991, identifying the responsibilities of each bureau in the registration of veterinary drug and products and the issuance of the Bureau of Food and Drugs Bureau Circular 07 series of 2004, specifying the veterinary drug under the jurisdiction of the BFAD, hereunder listed are the veterinary drugs and products under the jurisdiction of the BAI:
1. Veterinary drug and products intended for premixes such as but not limited to antibacterial, acidifiers, antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, electrolytes and amino acids;
2. Water soluble supplements (vitamins, minerals, electrolytes) intended for animals;
3. External preparations such as creams, ointments, shampoo, soap, liniments, powder, oral paste/gel and the like with no therapeutic claims intended for animal use only
4. Disinfectants for the limited use on animal environment/surroundings, houses, facilities and equipment;
Note: Disinfectants with dual indication for both human and animal facilities and environment shall be under the jurisdiction of BFAD.
5. Probiotics, yeasts, enzymes for animal and aquaculture use intended as performance enhancer, deodorizer and for pond treatment;
6. Veterinary biologicals.
Only the above products will be registered by BAI. All other products previously registered by BAI but not included in the list must be reapplied for initial registration with the Bureau of Food and Drugs. AEDCHc
This Administrative Order shall take effect thirty (30) days after approval.
