REPUBLIC ACT NO. 11083
AN ACT UPGRADING THE SERVICES AND FACILITIES OF THE LA UNION MEDICAL CENTER IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF AGOO, PROVINCE OF LA UNION BY INCREASING ITS BED CAPACITY TO THREE HUNDRED (300) AND ESTABLISHING A TRAUMA CENTER THEREIN, AUTHORIZING THE INCREASE OF ITS PERSONNEL, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR
SECTION 1. The services and facilities of the La Union Medical Center (LUMC) in the Municipality of Agoo, Province of La Union shall be upgraded and, accordingly, its bed capacity shall be increased from one hundred (100) to three hundred (300) beds, and a trauma center shall be established therein. The increase in bed capacity shall be done gradually over a three (3)-year period.
SECTION 2. The LUMC, through its Board of Trustees, is hereby authorized to increase and hire additional employees corresponding to the upgrading of its services and facilities and increase in bed capacity. The Chief of Hospital of the LUMC shall coordinate with the Department of Health, the Department of Budget and Management and the Civil Service Commission for the efficient and effective implementation of this Act.
SECTION 3. The Provincial Government of La Union and the LUMC are hereby authorized to provide the funds from their respective budgets necessary for the implementation of this Act.
SECTION 4. The Secretary of Health shall include in the Department's program the subsidy support for the capital outlay requirements of the said medical center.
SECTION 5. All laws, decrees, ordinances, rules and regulations, executive or administrative orders, and other presidential issuances inconsistent with this Act are hereby repealed, amended or modified accordingly.
SECTION 6. This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in at least two (2) newspapers of general circulation. ETHIDa
