Transferring the Philippine Reclamation Authority from the DPWH to DENR

EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 798
TRANSFERRING THE PHILIPPINE RECLAMATION AUTHORITY FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND HIGHWAYS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENT AND NATURAL RESOURCES
WHEREAS, Executive Order No. 380 (s. 2004) mandates the Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA) to develop, improve, administer, deal in, subdivide, dispose, lease, and sell all kinds of lands, buildings, estates and other forms of real property owned, managed, controlled and/or operated by the government, and thus, hold assets in behalf of the National Government;
WHEREAS, Executive Order No. 586 (s. 2006) transferred the PRA from the Department of Finance to the Department of Public Works and Highways;
WHEREAS, under Section 4,
Chapter I, Title XIV of the Revised Administrative Code of 1987, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources exercises exclusive jurisdiction on the management and disposition of all lands of the public domain and serve as the sole agency responsible for classification, sub-classification, surveying and titling of lands in consultation with appropriate agencies;
WHEREAS, the Revised Administrative Code of 1987 grants the President continuing authority to reorganize the National Government.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby order: DcITaC
SECTION 1. The Philippine Reclamation Authority is hereby transferred to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
SECTION 2. This Executive Order shall take effect immediately.
