Transfer to Welfareville of All Female Prisoners Confined in Bilibid Prison
Act No. 3579, approved on November 27, 1929, authorizes the transfer of all female prisoners from Bilibid Prison to a newly constructed facility in Welfareville. The Secretary of Justice is empowered to oversee the construction of the necessary buildings for this purpose. ACT NO. 3579
AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER TO WELFAREVILLE OF ALL FEMALE PRISONERS CONFINED IN BILIBID PRISON, APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF SIXTY THOUSAND PESOS FOR THIS PURPOSE, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
SECTION 1. The Secretary of Justice is hereby authorized to order the construction on the grounds of Welfareville of such buildings as may be strictly necessary for the confinement therein of all female prisoners at present confined in Bilibid Prison. Upon the completion of such buildings, said prisoners shall be transferred to the same. SEIcAD
SECTION 2. The sum of sixty thousand pesos is hereby appropriated, out of any funds in the Insular Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to carry out the purposes of this Act, including the compensation of additional personnel, the purchase of equipment and furniture, and other necessary miscellaneous expenses.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on its approval.
