LETTER OF INSTRUCTIONS NO. 660

TRANSFERRING THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE POWER PHASE OF THE MAGAT PROJECT FROM THE NATIONAL IRRIGATION ADMINISTRATION TO THE NATIONAL POWER CORPORATION

The responsibility for the construction and development of the power generating facilities of the Magat-Multi-Purpose is hereby transferred from the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) to the National Power Corporation (NPC). Consistent with the foregoing, NPC is hereby directed to review and evaluate the plans, designs, cost estimates and other contract documents of the power phase of the project, negotiate and contract with any agency, foreign or local, for the financing thereof, and to submit a quarterly progress report to the President. cd

NPC shall coordinate with NIA and such other agencies of the government as appropriate in the implementation and operation of the power phase of the project.

The Budget Commissioner shall allocate the budgetary appropriations for the project under P.D. No. 693 to the NPC and NIA and other agencies involved in the project consistent with their respective project responsibilities.
